The broadest standard cover for cargo in transit
What is covered
Institute Cargo Clauses (A) 2009 cover loss of or damage to the goods from any cause except those expressly excluded: the assured's wilful misconduct, ordinary leakage and wear, insufficient packing, inherent vice and delay. Breakage, wetting, theft and non-delivery of whole packages are covered.
Which legs
Cover runs from the shipper's warehouse to the consignee's warehouse: sea, rail, road and air legs, transshipments and storage in the ordinary course of transit. The policy is issued by an insurance company; ATF as the forwarder arranges the terms and gets it issued before shipment.
