Shifting, segregation and consolidation in port
What we do
We move containers and cargo inside the port: from the stack to the inspection area or X-ray unit (IDK), to the warehouse, to the rail front or to another terminal. We sort lots by B/L and consignee and build small shipments into larger units for removal by truck, rail or vessel.
Why this way
Proper segregation prevents mix-ups between lots of different consignees, and consolidation cuts removal costs: instead of several half-empty trucks or wagons you get properly loaded units. Every move is agreed with the terminal and, for cargo under customs control, with customs.
