Road freight across Russia
FTL trucks, LTL groupage and reefers
Road freight across Russia is the most flexible way to move an import lot from the port of Vladivostok or a warehouse to a consignee in any region: as a full truckload, as LTL groupage or in a reefer. We match the trailer to the cargo, agree loading and unloading windows, track the truck by GPS and close the trip with proper paperwork.
A truck from Vladivostok to Moscow typically takes 12–16 days for about 9,300 km; intercity runs in European Russia take 1–5 days. In spring regions close some roads to heavy vehicles while they dry out — we build these periods into routing and transit time.

Quote and booking
We confirm weight, volume, pallet count, stackability, addresses, loading and unloading windows and temperature. We choose the trailer and the mode — FTL or LTL — and fix the rate and terms in a booking order.
1 day - 02
Truck spotting
We spot the truck at the warehouse, port or bonded warehouse; the trailer is checked and a reefer is pre-cooled to setpoint. A container is collected from the port on a container chassis after release, with the gate-out agreed with the terminal.
from 24 h - 03
Loading and paperwork
We check load plan and securing, axle load distribution and the seal. The consignment note (TrN) is issued on paper or electronically (e-TrN).
2–4 h - 04
In transit
We track the truck by GPS and report status and ETA changes. Transit time allows for driver working-hour rules, road weather and seasonal restrictions for heavy vehicles.
1–16 days by distance - 05
Delivery to consignee
Unloading in the agreed window, package count and signatures on the TrN; any discrepancy is recorded in a report. We hand over closing documents and copies of the consignment notes.

Problems
In spring, temporary axle-load limits are imposed on regional roads and a loaded truck cannot reach the consignee.
We check regional restrictions at planning stage, route via federal highways and, if needed, split the lot or use a vehicle with lower axle loads.
The truck waits at unloading: the consignee has no slot, the gate pass or paperwork is not ready, and the waiting time is later billed separately.
We agree the slot and gate pass before dispatch, and the free loading/unloading time and waiting rate are written into the booking order.
At delivery the cargo is damaged or the reefer went out of range, and there is no evidence of where it happened.
We photograph securing and seal at loading, put the setpoint in the order and request the temperature recorder printout at delivery — the basis for a claim and the insurer.
Documents
Documents for road carriage within Russia. The consignment note follows the Rules of Carriage of Goods by Road (Government Decree No. 2200); the delivery term decides who books and pays for the truck.
Incoterms
- DAP
- seller delivers to the buyer's warehouse — the road leg is part of the sale
- FCA

- CPT
- seller pays carriage to destination; risk passes on handover to the carrier
Documents
- Consignment note (TrN / e-TrN)

FAQ
FTL means the whole truck carries your lot: faster, with no intermediate handling, and usually worthwhile from 10–12 pallets or 8–10 t. With LTL you pay only for your pallets or cubic metres in a shared truck, but transit is longer because of consolidation and distribution. We choose the mode by weight, volume and urgency.
Typically 12–16 days: the distance is about 9,300 km and driving-time rules limit how far a single driver can go per day. A two-driver crew cuts this to roughly 8–10 days at a higher rate. Road delivery from Vladivostok to Moscow makes sense when time matters or the cargo does not suit rail.
Yes. We spot a truck for the release, agree the gate-out with the terminal, collect the container or lot at the port or border and deliver to the consignee under one contract. This saves terminal free days and avoids a liability gap between contractors.
Yes. We supply reefers running from −20 to +25 °C, fix the setpoint in the order, pre-cool the trailer and monitor temperature en route. This suits food, pharma and other temperature-sensitive goods; in winter an insulated or reefer trailer is also needed for cargo that must not freeze.
The main document is the consignment note (TrN) under the Rules of Carriage of Goods by Road; it can be issued electronically (e-TrN) via an EDI operator and filed with the state e-document system GIS EPD. Add the booking order with the carrier and the goods documents — UPD or goods delivery note. A CMR is not needed inside Russia; it is for international carriage.
In spring, while roads dry out, regions limit the axle load of heavy vehicles on regional and local roads for several weeks; federal highways are usually not restricted. Dates and limits vary by region, most often March to May. If the consignee is located on such a road, we plan delivery before the restriction starts or use a smaller vehicle.
