Crane hire for oversize cargo
lifting works: mobile and crawler cranes, jacking
Hiring a crane to load oversize cargo is not just about the machine but about calculation: the crane must take the load and rigging at the required radius, and the ground must bear the outrigger pressure. We source a mobile or crawler crane from crane companies, prepare the method statement and organise lifting and rigging works in Vladivostok and at client sites.
Work with lifting equipment follows a method statement or work card in line with Rostekhnadzor federal rules. Where there is no room or capacity for a crane, the load is raised with hydraulic jacks and moved along skid tracks (jacking & skidding).

Task and site
We get the load and rigging weight, dimensions, required radius and lift height, photos and a site sketch: where the crane and vehicle will stand, any nearby power lines and underground services.
1 day - 02
Equipment selection
We select the crane by its load chart: load plus rigging at the required radius, with a margin. If one crane is not enough or there is no room — we consider a tandem lift or jacking & skidding.
1–3 days - 03
Method statement and site prep
We prepare the method statement or work card, calculate ground pressure under the outriggers and choose mats. Near power lines we obtain a permit-to-work, and site passes on restricted premises.
2–7 days - 04
Mobilisation
The crane is delivered to site; heavy crawler cranes arrive in parts on several low-beds and are assembled on site, which is built into the schedule.
hours to several days - 05
Lifting operations
The operator lifts on the supervisor's signals, and certified riggers sling the load per the scheme. The operation is photo-recorded, then the crane demobilises.

Problems
The crane was ordered by its rated capacity, but at the required radius it lifts several times less — the job fails and the shift is still paid.
We select the crane strictly by its load chart for the actual radius and the load plus rigging.
An outrigger punches through soft ground or a manhole cover — the crane loses stability.
We calculate the pressure under each support, choose mats of the right area and check the site for underground services.
The crane arrives but cannot work: a power line nearby without a permit-to-work, or no method statement — idle time is charged.
Method statement, permits and passes are ready before mobilisation, and the crane goes only to a prepared site.
Documents
Documents without which the crane will not start work on site. The delivery term decides who hires the crane for loading and unloading — better to know before the cargo is ready to ship.

FAQ
Yes, the crane always works with its own operator, and we arrange riggers and a works supervisor as part of the crew. You get a ready-to-work team with the required certificates, not just a machine. Rigging gear is selected separately for the load.
A crane is chosen by its load chart, not by its maximum rated capacity. You check what it lifts at the required radius and height and compare it with the load plus spreader and slings, leaving a margin. That is why a 100-tonne crane at a long radius may not lift even 10 tonnes.
It is raising a load with hydraulic jacks and moving it horizontally along skid tracks without a crane. It is used where there is no room or capacity for a crane — for example inside a workshop or when placing on a foundation in tight space.
Yes. The outriggers need level ground that can take the support pressure, otherwise the crane may lose stability. We calculate ground pressure, choose mats and check the site in advance for underground services and power lines.
The cost depends on crane capacity, working time and site distance. Hire is usually charged hourly or per shift with a minimum order, with mobilisation and mats charged separately. We quote an exact rate once we have the load, radius and site data.
Yes. Rostekhnadzor federal rules for sites using lifting equipment require such work to follow a method statement (PPR) or work card. It sets the crane position, rigging scheme, danger zones and safety measures. Without it, the person in charge will not allow the lift.
